GHOSTS IN VEGAS
Ghostly portraits in Las Vegas where every individual is stuck in his own loneliness. Like ghosts wandering in the paradise, or hell, of gambling.
The strip and the casinos in Las Vegas were crowded by tourists and gamblers in August 2006, when I did this series. The first thing that hit me was that many of these persons seamed completely alone although they were in the middle of a huge moving crowd.
I wanted to show this loneliness by taking the pictures during rare instants when they would be alone in the frame. A few seconds later, the image would usually be invaded by a dozen persons.
